The A-Z of Friday
by Kathi Satchel
Ants trail through the
broken up mulch
creating a moving chain of
determined legs.
Every time I look at them I
feel delighted that I don’t
give a toss about
how lazy I am.
I sit with my tea and
jaffa cakes and
kind of wish I could
live this way forever.
Moments later I’m reminded
no-one is safe from
obstinate consumerism
products thrust constantly.
Qanon are (only)
right when they
say we need to rebel,
take back control.
Until then I will
vent online occasionally,
when I come across
xenophobia or misogyny.
You know how life
zips by.
